Bruksvillan – holiday home for 2-3 families or larger parties
Bruksvillan in Östanå has 5 twin bedrooms and a four-bed room, a total of 14 sleeping places with the possibility of more. The tenant disposes about 500 sqm. On the ground floor there is a recreation room with fireplace, two shower rooms with two showers and wc each as well as a sauna. Upstairs there is a spacious kitchen with restaurant dishwasher, hob, two ovens and other kitchen and serving equipment for parties up to 50 persons. There is a dining room and a living room with a magnificent view towards Helge å where Bruksvillan has its own jetty. On the other side of the river is a swimming beach suitable for children and the elderly. There are several patios on the yard and a large, oval trampoline. The plot is fenced and suitable for dogs. Parking space for five-six cars.
Occasionally, Bruksvillan has been run as a guest house / B&B. It was built in the 1960s as a home for the managing director of the paper mill. The house is in the 60’s style and has many period features well preserved.
The surroundings offer nice hiking trails and cycle paths through Göingebygden’s beautiful forests, small villages and cultural-historical monuments. The nearest railway station is in Osby, 8 km from Östanå. There, as in Broby in the opposite direction, you will find shops and other services. A couple of km upstream from Bruksvillan is Denningerum’s farm with exotic and domestic animals, rental of rafts and canoes and a popular lunch buffet.
Wander north Skåneleden with Bruksvillan as a starting point
Bruksvillan is a suitable starting point for walks of different lengths on the northern Skåneleden. About 3 km north of Östanå, the hiking trail runs from Sölvesborg in the east to Båstad and Hovs Hallar in the west. Connect to the trail by walking up along the river, then turn off in one or the other direction. To the east you walk comfortably on paths and forest roads, through historic Snapphane district via the beautiful lake Immeln and on to Blekinge. To the west towards Osby and Osbysjön, via Örkelljunga over Hallandsåsen and Båstad, and out to Kullen towards the sea.
